We’re looking for someone who may be in one of these situations:
Scenario 1: You’re in a high-volume shop that runs on chaos. You’re burned out and ready to reconnect with the craft in a calmer, more intentional studio where the client experience is paramount.
Scenario 2: You’re already doing piercing, admin, and consults—but without systems, mentorship, or support. You’re carrying the shop and want to be part of a real team.
Scenario 3: You apprenticed in a studio that gave you just enough to get started. You’re piercing now, but you’re looking for structure, higher standards, and a refined space to grow.

About the Role
This is a client-facing hybrid role starting March 2, 2026, with 3 weeks+ weeks of paid training and overlap before maternity coverage begins.
There is potential for this to become a permanent role based on fit and performance.
You’ll be one of two piercers in a private, appointment-only studio. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team that jumps in as needed to maintain seamless flow and elevated client care. Some days you’ll pierce more; other days you’ll support client flow and communication—but the expectation is always the same: clarity, professionalism, and care.
• Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday preferred (open to part-time for the right fit)
• Hours: 10:45 AM – 7:00 PM. Break times and lunch times are paid — you’re compensated for the full day.
• Coverage Duration: March 2 – June 27, 2026, with strong potential to extend.
What You’ll Do
Independently perform all standard piercings we offer (nostrils, septum, lobes, helix, conch, etc.) —experience with advanced piercings a plus, but not required
Educate and guide clients through jewelry selection, anatomy, and aftercare
Respond to phone/email inquiries and convert them into appointments
Keep the studio space clean, organized, and aligned with brand standards
Coordinate client flow from first contact to final check-out
Use downtime intentionally: inventory, follow-ups, and studio tasks
Our hybrid model keeps the team balanced and prevent burnout by blending piercing with supportive client coordination within our private, appointment-studio—prioritizing quality over quantity to build lasting client loyalty.
Work alongside our senior piercer & floor manager with access to mentorship for advanced technique growth over time
Who This Role Is For
You are:
Minimum 2-3 years of professional piercing, proficiently performing all standard piercings independently (nostrils, septum, lobes, helix, conch, etc.)
A strong communicator with excellent bedside manner
Experienced or comfortable with jewelry consultation and sales - high end jewelry preferred but not required
Dependable, punctual, and ready to uphold the flow of a time-sensitive appointment studio
Comfortable handling phones, emails, POS, and scheduling
Self-directed—when it’s quiet, you don’t coast, you contribute
Serious about the craft, the client, and your own growth
Comfortable working solo if needed
Compensation
• $22 - $25/hr – based on experience
• 15% commission on piercing services
• 10% commission on jewelry sales
• 100% of tips are yours (tips not included in compensation breakdown)
• W-2 employee, paid weekly via direct deposit
• Skin Course (required for licensing) and studio license covered
• If this becomes a permanent position, additional compensation and benefits will be discussed
Licensing Requirements
Required by the Medway Department of Health (we’ll guide you through what’s needed):
• Current Bloodborne Pathogen, CPR, and First Aid certifications
• Proof of training (letter from mentor, supervisor, or studio owner outlining your piercing apprenticeship and/or piercing experience)
• Completed college-level Anatomy & Physiology course or approved Skin Course (online option available; studio-paid if needed)
• Work history and resume
• Valid, non-expired government-issued photo ID

Visions Tattoo, Piercing & Art Gallery is an artist-owned, appointment-only studio in Medway, MA, established in 2004—and MetroWest’s only studio with APP-member piercers.
We’re known for education-first care, refined body jewelry curation, and a calm, professional client experience—a calm, highly organized client experience—high standards, clean work, and a fun, grounded team—prioritizing quality over quantity to build lasting client loyalty.
You’ll be working in a beautiful Victorian studio with:

APP membership is not required — but you must be confident operating at that level of technical and professional standard. If you join us permanently, we’ll support you in becoming a member.
Front-of-House (Industry-Experienced) — Limited Consideration
If you’re already in the piercing industry and your strength is front desk/client experience (phones, scheduling, POS, client communication), you may still inquire. We are not considering applicants new to the industry at this time.
