A consultation typically takes about an hour, followed by another few hours of the artists personal time refining and drawing a custom design. The tattoo deposit is non-refundable, and it only covers a fraction of what the tattoo itself will cost. That time could’ve gone into other clients or the artist’s own creative projects.
If you’re unclear on your concept, or still need to “talk to your partner,” it’s best to wait until you’re sure before booking. Constant changes or indecision after the drawing phase are not only unfair — they waste valuable time and energy.
