Warbird explores the tension between war and peace through striking symbolism. A mourning dove carrying an olive branch stands atop a gauntlet of war emerging from the ruins of a devastated city. Inspired by the reality that the United States has spent most of its history engaged in military conflicts, the artwork invites viewers to reflect on the costs of war and the enduring hope for renewal.
The dove symbolizes resilience, reconciliation, and the possibility of healing even after immense destruction. Illuminated by a rising sun, it represents the belief that peace is not passive—it is something we actively build through understanding, empathy, and cooperation.
